Cyclic Model is an interactive installation developed in response to the political climate surrounding Brazil’s 2018 presidential elections. Visitors are invited to play a game of hopscotch, but instead of numbers, each square contains an image taken from Brazil in 2018—scenes of protest, propaganda, violence, celebration, and contradiction. What appears at first as a childhood game slowly reveals itself as a reflection on repetition, manipulation, and the uneasy looping of history.
The work questions how political narratives are internalized through physical movement and play, and how cycles of ideology and spectacle continue to structure everyday life.
Exhibited at Maus Hábitos (Porto, 2019), Galeria das Salgadeiras (Lisbon, 2019), and Centro Municipal de Arte Hélio Oiticica (Rio de Janeiro, 2019).
