Uso Próprio is a sculptural work that emerges from an investigation into self-consumption as a form of artistic resistance. Conceived through a candid and at times egocentric experiment, it is an act of creation both from and for the self.
The work arises not only from a desire to challenge the market’s suspension of self-consumption, but from a need to reintroduce the experience of lack as a space through which desire, in any form, might be allowed to surface.
It was exhibited at the FBAUP Museum (2021).
